Back to Blogspot

I deleted this blog to join Tumblr because I had hardly any followers here and my friends all told me that it's because (insert my impersonation of a deep informative voice) "there's no one on blogspot, you have to get a Tumblr!" And so I did. But when I found reblogged art that I really liked- it was all from Blogspot! And I couldn't follow my favorite artists! So, until Google or Apple or some other higher power creates one all-powerful blogging host site- I will have two blogs. My other blog is here: carlysanker.tumblr.com

Now for some ART!

Art and Coffee take their toll...

Back from the Winter of 2010...

Greetings, earthlings! I've returned from planet confusion to draw again. I believe the two and a half months in which I didn't draw was the longest period of time I'd gone without it since sixth grade (in all seriousness).

Well- here are some snippets of my new sketchbook. I believe it'll provide a preview of my new passionate and risque relationship with the brush pen- oh, it's so lovely.

Oh, wait- first, I'd like to announce that my artwork is going to be hung at the Starbucks at Mass Ave (across from 150 Mass Ave at Berklee) starting in April! (Boston, MA). Secondly, I'll also be displaying artwork at the Starbucks around the corner on Huntington Avenue! Wahoo! Thirdly, I've begun intensive work again at 61 Solutions, testing the software that many of you will jump out of your seats to get in line to purchase-- "Sketch".

61 Solutions has a contract with Disney, Pixar and Marvel, and are developing a simpler version of Photoshop that prioritizes the correlation and accurate representation of drawing traditionally, but digitally. Yes, folks, the software you're always dreamed of- and it won't cost a bajillion dollars like Photoshop, either. After designing the interface of Sketch, I'll be testing it furiously this summer (expect posts of many drawings done in Sketch). 61 Solutions hopes to release Sketch as soon as they've finished the programming- I'll keep you updated. ;)

Some adoring-fan-art (Oblivion reference) by both Becky Cloonan and Ryan Kelly, brilliant comic book illustrators that have worked with my favorite writer, Brian Wood.

That's all for now! :)
